Villa La Angostura is located in the south o the province of Neuquén on the northern bank of lake Nahuel Huapi, 45 km away from the international border line with Chile. It is strategically placed for the entrance of those visitors from this neighboring country and as a gate for all those foreign tourists interested in visiting the Chilean Patagonia.
Its main winter attraction is Mt. Bayo with its ski runs and apt, as well, for all kind of winter sports. During the year the Luna Apiculata or Chilean Myrth woods in the Quetrihue peninsula and the Seven-lake route can be visited. The Luna Apiculata (Chilean Myrth) wood with more than 100 hectares is the last one all over the world regarding this specie. The Seven-lake route is developed on Route 234 from Villa La Angostura visiting these lakes: Espejo, Correntoso, Escondido, Villarino, Falkner, Hermoso, and Machónico getting to San Martín de los Andes over lake Lacar. Bahia Manzano is another tourist attraction where visitors have an excellent network of hotels, restaurants and spas.
