The city of San Martín de los Andes is located in the province of Neuquén, on the north bank of lake Lacar, a valley born due to the glacial action.

San Martín de los Andes emerged as a tourist village, being it main attraction the winter sports carried out in Mt. The local cuisine, is based on grilled, smoked or pickling brine (made with oil, vinegar, peppercorns and bay leaves) deer, wild sows or trout. Pierradas (grilled vegetables cooked on the guests’ tables) are an excellent option as well.
This area can be reached by air through Chapelco Airport; land transportation, by bus or by car. The main city access routes go from San Carlos de Bariloche in the province of Río Negro.
