Corrientes – Corrientes - Argentina

City of Corrientes is located in the Mesopotamia Argentina. Corrientes Carnival is one of the major tourist attractions of the city. The city of Corrientes has hotels, restaurants, car rental agencies for the tourist to enjoy the visit.

The city Corrientes, the capital of the province of equal name and it has a distance of 1030 km to the city Buenos Aires.

The principal touristics points of the city of Corrientes are:

  • The church and convent of San Francisco. It is provided with a sacred museum and its construction was inspired by the colonnade San Pedro de Roma.

  • The church Nuestra Señora de la Merced, of baroque style constructed in 1856.

  • Avenida costanera. The coast avenue of Corrientes.
  • The city Itatí. 68 km far away from Corrientes city. Its nicest attraction is the Basilica with the portrait of the Virgin from Itatí that was brought in the century XVI by the Franciscans. A celebration is holding on each 16th of July in honour of the sacred patroness Virgin. Pilgrims from other provinces and neighbour countries celebrate this occasion.

One of the most popular festivals of the city of Corrientes is the Carnival that is characterized by the Splendour of the procession participants with their colourful costumes and their music. The sport fishing is another great event where people from all over the province compete.
