Mendoza - Mendoza - Argentina





The city of Mendoza is located west of Argentina. Mendoza is one of the major cities of Argentina. Mendoza has a world-class tourist infrastructure. Tourists can choose from a large number and variety of hotels, restaurants, car rental agencies in planning your stay during his visit to Mendoza.





The city of Mendoza is located 1,100 km away from the City of Buenos Aires and it is the capital of the province of Mendoza. The city of Mendoza is characterized by its irrigation ditches running parallel along the pavement curbs of each street.



The main celebration of the province of Mendoza is the Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia (for wine-lovers, a wine-harvest national cerebration) which takes place during the first week of March in the capital city.



The main excursions from the city of Mendoza are:

  • Mt. de la Gloria in Parque San Martín (San Martín Park).Puente del Inca (Inca’s Bridge) with the Cristo Redentor (Redeeming Christ).
  • The Cristo Redentor is the border line between the Republic of Argentina and Chile.
  • Mendoza River where rafting can be practised.
  • Mt. Acongagua.
  • Villavicencio Hotel, 45 km away from Mendoza and the 365-curve route.
  • City of Uspallata with its smelting vaults used by San Martín’s Army. 
  • The wine region, made up by the departments of Godoy Cruz, Maipú and Luján de Cuyo which form the area of Great Mendoza. 
  • Valley of Uco with the cities of Tupungato and Tunuyan. 
  • Chacras de Coria, 20 km away from the capital city where the ancient huge houses have become into hotels and restaurants, calling the attention of tourists as well as local people. 
  • Visits to wineries. It is highly recommended a visit to traditional wineries and a boutique winery.


Other tourism cities in the province of Mendoza are: 

  • San Rafael, with the vineyards of the region and the Atuel River Canyon. In this river, a wide range of nautical activities can be practised, being rafting in its wild waters the most important one.
  • Malargüe, with its cave paintings and the astronomical observatory. 
  • Las Leñas, near Malargüe, is one of the most important sports-winter center of the country.


Inner flights from the main cities of the country and daily flights from Santiago de Chile land in the Aeropuerto Internacional of Mendoza.

Another alternative to reach the province is land transportation by bus or by car. Route 7 joins the city of Buenos Aires with the city of Mendoza and its continuation goes as far as the international border line with the Republic of Chile.
